Permanent Senior Buyer job in Central Scotland offering up to £29,000 pa plus competitive benefits.

This job for a Senior Buyer is with a Manufacturing organisation who are a leader in their market. Over the past few years the organisation has went through significant change from traditional manufacturing to a more strategic and structured company. Currently, they are going through a ‘modernisation journey’ which has seen them implement a new ERP system and from an employee perspective, ensuring they have the right people in the right jobs. With a headcount of over 230 employees at their Cumbernauld site they are looking for energised and ambitious employees who are bought into their vision.

Your new role
The job of Senior Buyer will see you joining the wider Supply Chain team reporting directly into the Purchasing Manager, supporting the delivery of the purchasing strategy. You will be responsible for conducting negotiations to provide best possible price, quality and support for the company ensuring they meet organisation specifications and quality expectations. As a result of this you will maximise business opportunity achieving significant cost savings and business productivity. Additionally you will build and maintain relationships with suppliers, measuring KPIs to ensure high quality and service guarantees are adhered to. Specifically, you will manage and resolve any under performing suppliers as required. Furthermore you will play a vital role in the cost control and budget performance which is critical to business success. You will prepare, distribute and analyse RFQs for identified stock categories. Additionally and notable you will develop and maintain a robust returns procedure. This role will require you to ensure all compliance procedures are adhered to by managing stakeholders.

What you'll need to succeed
As a Senior Buyer, you will have excellent working knowledge of Supply Chain strategies and Inventory Management. You will be commercially astute and innovative, and be prepared to challenge existing procurement methods and be confident in making change. You will have experience of implementing procurement strategy as well as rationalising suppliers and managing existing contracts, renegotiating and sourcing new suppliers. As an individual you will have exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence suppliers and stakeholders.
